Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly

Communities across the West Daly Region came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026, embracing this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly." From Wadeye to Peppimenarti and Nganmarriyanga, we've come together to mark a powerful milestone – five decades of NAIDOC as a national movement. Community BBQs brought people together to share great food, connect with one another and celebrate the rich cultures, stories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We were proud to be part of these celebrations and thank everyone who joined us, as well as the National Indigenous Australians Agency for supporting this year's NAIDOC Week activities.

But... the celebrations aren't over yet! next generation of footy stars are ready to shine at our upcoming NAIDOC AFL Carnival - there’s plenty more to come as we honour where we've come from and look ahead to the future
