Living in the West Daly Region
Work in the West Daly Region
The West Daly region covers the communities of Wadeye, Nganmarriyanga and Peppimenarti, as well as surrounding homelands. These are places of deep cultural significance, rich in tradition, language, and history. Whether you’re an experienced professional or just starting out, a career with Council is your chance to support community development, build local capacity, and grow professionally in a truly special part of Australia.
Living in Community: Real Stories
Meet Jasmine ‘Jaz’
When Jaz moved to Wadeye 4.5 years ago, she wasn’t sure what to expect. Now, she can’t imagine being anywhere else.
“I initially came out here for a job with the local community store. I met an amazing group of people through work and fell in love with the place. Its home now.”
Jaz began as our Wadeye Administration Officer before moving into a new position as Post Officer Coordinator. Most recently, she has started her new role as Community Safety Patrol Coordinator supporting staff across Wadeye, Palumpa and Peppimenarti. Her days are a mix of training staff in the Post Office, liaising with Council and stakeholders, and managing Community Safety Patrol teams.
More than just work

Outside of work, Jaz enjoys going fishing and hanging with friends at the beach.
Her advice to anyone considering the move?
“Give it a go, it’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful, and you’ll meet so many likeminded people.”
