The West Daly Regional Council provides a range of commercial services under contract with Australian Government agencies, supporting essential operations in remote communities across the region.



These services help ensure residents and visitors have access to important national programs and infrastructure, delivered locally by people who understand their community.

Australia Post

Local Postal Services for Our Communities

The Wadeye Licensed Post Office operates from:

Lot 463 Perdjert St, Wadeye, NT 0822
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 2:00pm

In addition to Wadeye, the Council delivers postal services to Peppimenarti and Palumpa on behalf of Australia Post. Mail collection and distribution occur at each community’s Council Office:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Centrelink

Services Australia Agent and Access Program

Under contract with Services Australia, the Council delivers the Agents and Access Program in Nganmarriyanga and Peppimenarti.



Council’s local agents provide culturally appropriate customer support, ensuring community members can easily access federal government services including Centrelink, Medicare, and MyGov.

Services include:

• Assistance with self-service equipment
  
• Referrals to the Services Australia Call Centre
  
• Equipment maintenance and reporting

Aerodrome Management

Maintaining Safe and Reliable Air Access

The Council manages and inspects three aerodromes, located in Nganmarriyanga, Peppimenarti, and Wadeye, on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.



Council employs trained Aerodrome Reporting Officers (AROs) in Wadeye to handle after-hours calls and ensure the safety and readiness of airstrips prior to aircraft landings.
