Supporting Safer Communities Across West Daly

The West Daly Regional Council coordinates and delivers Community Safety Patrol services, commonly known as Night Patrol, in Wadeye, Palumpa, and Peppimenarti.



This important initiative, funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), provides culturally appropriate support to community members and promotes safety, wellbeing, and connection.


The program is built on strong partnerships with key organisations including Northern Territory Police, Remote Health Clinics, Schools, and Safe Houses to ensure a coordinated and compassionate approach to community care.

What We Do

Our dedicated Community Safety Patrol Officers help keep communities safe by:

Our key responsibilities include:

Assisting vulnerable people who may be at risk of harm or causing harm.

Referring individuals and families to other services for ongoing support.

Ensuring children are at home or in a safe location with parents or carers at night.

Supporting families to keep children safe, rested, and ready to attend school.

Diverting intoxicated individuals away from contact with the justice system before incidents occur.

Recording and reporting community incidents and assistance provided.
