New Title

Keeping Palumpa Safe, Together

West Daly Regional Council extends its sincere thanks to the dedicated teams from Northern Territory Emergency Service for their incredible efforts in supporting the safe evacuation of community members from Palumpa during the recent flooding. Over the weekend, Council Service Professionals Tim Hema and Saad Afridi were present on the ground, working closely with emergency services to coordinate the evacuation of 156 residents from Palumpa. Their commitment and coordination helped ensure the safety and wellbeing of community members during a challenging time. Council also acknowledges the strong collaboration between Council teams and Northern Territory Government emergency services in responding quickly and effectively to support the community. The professionalism and dedication shown by everyone involved is deeply appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming residents safely back home once conditions improve. Community members are encouraged to stay informed by following SecureNT on Facebook or listening to ABC Local Radio. For emergency help during floods, storms or cyclones, contact NTES on 132 500. In life-threatening situations, call 000. For more safety information visit www.securent.nt.gov.au.
