Strengthening Governance Through Code of Conduct Training
New Title
Following the 1 July amendments to the Local Government Act 2019 and the introduction of the new Code of Conduct, West Daly Regional Council is proud to acknowledge that our Elected Members have successfully completed the new Code of Conduct training, delivered by the NT Government’s Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development.
The training provided Elected Members with an overview of the new Code of Conduct, including the management of complaints at Council level and processes for handling complaints beyond Council.
Completing the training ensures our Elected Members are informed of the recent changes and have a clear understanding of their responsibilities. It also reflects their ongoing commitment to good governance, accountability and respectful conduct while representing their constituents and communities.
Council extends its appreciation to Karen Hocking from the Department for delivering the training and supporting our Elected Members in understanding the changes and their responsibilities under the Local Government Act 2019.
