West Daly Regional Council is seeking a skilled Strategic Grants Coordinator to Boost the Council's Financial Success

Join our dynamic team as an accomplished Strategic Grants Coordinator, responsible for overseeing the complete grants management process within the West Daly Regional Council. Your expertise will be pivotal in elevating our financial status and supporting communities across the West Daly Region.

Primary Objective:

Drive growth in grant revenue for the Council by strategically engaging with Territory and Commonwealth agencies and efficiently managing the grant application process. This includes project selection, application preparation, training, and continuous improvement.

The Perfect Candidate:

You'll be a self-motivated, organised professional who excels in working autonomously and representing the Council in discussions and negotiations with senior government personnel. Your ability to multitask and deliver timely results will ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate robust strategic relationships with government agencies to stay informed on emerging grant programs
  • Represent the Council in discussions and negotiations with government departments to align grant opportunities with our priorities and objectives
  • Proactively monitor government websites, databases, and notifications for relevant grant and subsidy programs
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of recurring grant programs and their alignment with the Council's long-term budget plans
  • Collaborate with the Council's Finance team to identify projects and initiatives that present grant opportunities, and offer strategic advice and recommendations
  • Manage the entire grant application process, from preparation to lodgement and post-assessment

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (Government Relations, Project Management, Business Management, Communication) or proven experience in a relevant senior role
  • Demonstrated understanding of government grant programs and associated requirements
  • Proven experience in providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders
  • Current Northern Territory Driver's License, National Criminal History Check, Working with Children (Ochre Card), and COVID-19 vaccination
